All you people posting your gorgeous images from the UK are killing me!

I shouldn't covet your countryside--beauty is where you find it, right? I'll just keep telling myself that.

You live in Utah. It shouldn't be that hard to find the beauty.

Yes, Monument Valley is amazing. As are Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce, etc. (which are all closed to the public right now).  We do have some awe-inspiring landscapes about five or six hours away, and some nice-ish views up here in the north. I love the desert and the mountains in Utah. But there's something about that lush, green countryside of the Yorkshire Dales...full of sheep and old stone barns...sigh. And I've been there, so I don't think I'm indulging in false nostalgia from having watched too much "All Creatures Great and Small." Right...?

No, my coveting the landscape was a longing for something different...

Right. We've been to Four Corners monument and a couple of times touring around New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada. We would swap Yorkshire to live there. Funny how the grass is always greener

Gorgeous!

Is that an HDR photo?

There are places in Western North Carolina that look a lot like that.
