D7000 top LCD on all the time ?

Hi folks...been using a D5100 and just purchased a secondhand D7000. The top LCD screen appears on at all times, showing only a little detail.Is this right? I've trawled the instruction book but cannot find any details to say this is normal or notD7000.jpg

Hi,
This is completely normal. It just shows remaining amount of shots and which memory card slot is in use.

Unless you pull out the battery, every Nikon does this.
