Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 13 April, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style--just give us your best shot.

PS: If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

You all are so impressive! Can't wait to see what you do this week...

Time to clean your sensor Alden, just below the jet trail is some dust, nice shot though, the mist looks great.

Can I just use the self cleaning function?
I see I can set it to clean every time I turn the camera on or off.

Try a blower if that doesn't work.

While on my walk today. Great to see the birds back from their vacation in the States.   :)

Whoosh! Two stunning shots already! Well done, guys!

So Daniel, was that one taken with the Sigma or the Nikon lens? :)

I was using the Nikon lens today nbanjogal, the lens never ceases to impressed me even though its maximum focal point is only 400mm, finally the weather is great as well and I can use my camera out side again.

Since my last two were taken with my Samsung, here's a Nikon shot. Two continuous light softboxes on either side with a frontal glow courtesy of the Sunpak 16R ring flash. D700, 85mm f1.8 D, 1/100 at f3.5, ISO 400.

I like the composition as well as how you were able to capture a man in prayer so well. Black and white looks good for this image.

Thanks, Daniel. I quite liked the color version because it has a really nice warmth, but in the end, I went with the B&W because it seemed stronger.

I love it. Was he a model, or was it just a snap that worked out nicely?

My contribution this week.  I was at the 2014 CopperState 1000 Rally (first time) and tried some shots of the classic sports cars as they started their 1000 mile journey.  It was quite bright that day and at 10:00 AM.  I like this shot as the couple driving seem quite excited to be a part of the event.

Thanks, alden. He was a model--I would feel like a jerk if I were to intrude on someone who was actually praying. This shot was for my latest Project 52 Pros assignment--the topic was "Power." Lots of the participants in the group produced gorgeous shots of athletes (which was my first thought too), so I tried to do something different and persuaded this wonderfully humble and kind man to come to the oldest chapel I could find and sit in the light.

I covet that car, deancrandall! What a fun event to shoot. Love those old sports cars.

That's pretty impressive and clever to come up with the idea of capturing a man praying for a "power" theme project. Was this your idea or did u get it from somewhere else?

It was all my idea...though I'm sure it's been done before. I just wanted to do something different than all the athlete shots I was seeing.

A big part of completing the project was the brainstorming. I also had the idea of showing our four-year-old with her daddy wrapped around her finger or someone playing chess with people as the playing pieces...but both would have involved compositing in Photoshop, which I am not very good at. And they would have seemed forced and less elegant than this one I think.

Jumping in early this week...I may end up posting more than one shot this week as I have so much shooting going on...We adopted a pup - think I posted a quick pic awhile ago...We picked her up Monday evening and this shot was taken a few hours later as she was relaxing on a blanket...I had not planned on shooting any photos that night so had to grab equipment quickly and calmly to get this...
