I've never seen a bat that pink.  It does fit your assignment to a tee.  I actually took a photo for this challenge, but got busy yesterday and forgot to put it up.

Put it up anyway! I put mine up about 13 hours late. We're casual around here--no challenge police will call you out (that I know of). ;)

Two good ones!

This one I already put up in another spot here, but of all the 75 I took Sunday this one is my favorite.

What I'm hoping was the last snowfall of the year.  It was near white out for a short time.  Captured through my picture window.

Don't stress even in the slightest about how your photo compares to other posters. If you do this will become unenjoyable for you. It really is a good photo.

PS if you don't mind, having noticed your Flickr account reference, I'll ask to befriend you on Flickr.

PPS and wanting other Flickr friends from on this site too please

Nicole and K-9, your challenge photos are too interesting not to be posted. So what if you were a bit late in posting them. They were taken in the right timeframe and in the spirit of the challenge, that's what counts in an informal challenge like this. This first week set the challenge off to a good start, let's hope it continues... I will try not to take the easy way out with studio shots I can do while half asleep (even if I personally think it turned out well) and push myself more in the weeks to come.

/Peter

Good advice, funny peculiar. Comparing ourselves to others is the quickest way to start feeling pretty crappy about life in general. I wasn't so much comparing their photos to mine as much I was feeling like I hadn't put forth my best efforts, and it really looked like everyone else really had. Kinda felt like I was calling it in, ya know? And I'm following you on Flickr too!

Peter, I wish I could do studio shots while half asleep! I just spent half the morning trying to get the lighting just right on a chocolate cheesecake still life--finally gave up and decided to work with what I had. I could probably use some lessons from you.

When you have worked with product shoots for over 20 years there is not that much thought that goes into lighting still life in a studio setting anymore... Food is difficult, especially since most food illustrations and adverts we see published are styled to the max by professional food stylists before the photographer comes near the piece of art.

I wish I could hire a food stylist! I struggle with arranging things artfully, and I think I mangled the cut on the cheesecake. Yikes. Not to mention I don't know that much about lighting it well either.

When a food shot doesn't work out, do you feel inclined to just eat it to hide the evidence??

I feel inclined to eat it whether the shoot went well or not. :). The chocolate cheesecake from today was divine!

This is why I prefer not to shoot food :)  Although way back I did make a few bucks shooting photos of cakes for bakery...they were all for customers so I wasn't allowed to sample :(
