Actually Tony, I noticed your name had replaced a forum badge a couple of days ago. I thought, "he's outdone the forum to such an extent that they don't have a title for him anymore." You're just that good. :)

(By the way, I'll just quietly point out that my name was added to the list of raffle entry leaders...problem solved:) )

I agree. I was surprised to see that she was not on the list as well. I will take some picts of it for you and post when it arrives.

Well, I do have a very nice D80 from 2007 that I might let go for an FX lens or two. I actually have an f/1.8 50mm D lens that I think will work fine, and also a couple of older 35mm lenses that should work too. I know I will want to get a new lens or two though.

Can't give up your D7100, eh?  I'd keep them both if I could, too.  I also have the 50/1.8D, and it's my go to lens for my D600.  Now if Nikon will just put the 85/1.8G up for sale, without having to buy a body, I'll be happy.

I would love to own that lens.

It's just a little bit too dear for me though.

I may end up with this one, simply for that reason.

I bought my 85/1.8G last year around this time during a rebate and got $100 off, so maybe wait a bit and see if the price doesn't come down. Hopefully they'll get over this stupid rebate-with-a-camera-body-attached thing they've had going lately.

I would wait, if you can.  Nikon does have a history of putting the lens for sale at 399.  It kind of splits the difference.  Also, the 85/1.8D is not a bad lens at all.  Often Keh has ones, without rubber grip, for the low 200s.  The Samyang is brilliant, but sometimes you just want AF.

Correction, this one is for 179.00.

Compare the 3

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G on Nikon D600 vs Nikon AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D on Nikon D600 vs Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Aspherique IF Nikon on Nikon D600

Oh yeah, I have to wait anyway. I'm pretty broke at the present. I think the AF would be nice, of course, and there are times when it would be necessary, but if you are using it primarily to do portraits manual focus is more than sufficient.

Just noticed it now, never noticed it before. How long has it been showing like that? I have no idea at all why or when this happened. Clearly my observation skills are way off.

I'm guessing it's when you hit 750 posts. Alden's still says "veteran" and he's over 600.

You should go to your profile settings. You may now be able to title that whatever you want.

Been to my profile, and as above it says 'Tony892' and it does not let me change it. I personally think it is some sort of blip with the system, but not worth loosing sleep over. Been called a lot worse than Tony892 in my time.

I just changed mine! Go to "edit my profile" in the upper right of your profile page. You can then type in anything you want in the message title field. I don't know if everyone can do this, or just people who reach a certain post count?

K-9: Forum Phenom?? Awesome!

I'm going to revel in being a forum veteran a little longer. Perhaps I can come up with a suitable title in the near future.

Congratulations to all the winners, and to the big winner Alden! I'm curious did you go for the D610 or the D7100?

Must be when you get to the next level...I don't see that option yet...maybe at 500 posts...
