I know there are rumours a plenty.

Wondering if anyone else is hearing the same rumours or anything different.

Maybe there won't even be a D7300...but it seems like a plausibility.

I was considering on upgrading from a D90 to the D7100 -- but want to wait now to see if there is news on either a D7300 or equivalent.

Didn't see another thread on this yet -- if I missed it -- I'll delete this post.

When the 7200 is released there will be rumours about a 7300, and when that is release there will be rumours about a 7400 and so on...if you wait for the next model to be release you'll be waiting forever.

I've got the D7100 & I love it, like Upham said you'll be waiting forever for the next model so if you can afford it now then go for the D7100 you won't regret it I promise :)

It would be hard to improve on the 7100... a bigger buffer is the ONLY thing it needs, anything additional would be just gizmos.

I have a D7100 and think it is great. Mind you I thought my D40 was excellent. Although we all, including myself, get sucked into this model and that model, it is really down to using them to their full potential, rather than me thinking "if I only had this lens my pictures would be so much better".

Well, almost

I love my D7000, but *FOR ME* it isn't quite as capable as my D600s...It still has its place in my bag and is more than enough camera for most shooting when paired with the right glass!

Built in GPS and wi-fi would be nice.

I have seen some other sites postulate that they would jump to a 7300 to align with the 3300 and 5300.

I have used the 7100 and loved it -- just disappointed with the buffer lag....no telling if they next iteration will address that or not i guess.  Either way I can probably wait till September.

Tony put it correctly : some is about the camera model (and its features), but most is about the photographer her/himself.

No reason to be bummed ...

Waiting to see the shots you want to share. Good luck.

I'm wondering, what lens do you recommend for D7000 users, mate?

TIA

I know people that work with cameras that are 5-10 years old and make stunning images. It's more about your skills than it is about the camera.

Just one lens? 50mm f/1.8 D or G.

Thanks Alden I know your right it's easy to get caught up in the technology! I am happy with my purchase and getting used to the new camera only had it out a couple of times so far! You are right I could have a D40 and still pull off an amazing shot it's the skill not the technology I know many photogs that have the latest and greatest and couldn't shoot their way out of a wet paper bag so your right! Thanks for changing my perspective! I love that technology is always evolving and should be happy we have such great cameras to choose from!!! Thank you!
Ps.... Alden... Congrats on the 610 😊😊😊😊

Depends on what type of shooting you want to do...Alden suggested an excellent lens (or lenses since he specified the D or G versions)above...I would always recommend going for the best glass you can get...my favorite would be the 70-200 f/2.8, but that might be overkill for some folks in terms of its range or its cost depending on what they were shooting...

Personally, I shoot sports - indoor and at night on lit fields - so I knew I would need the fastest, highest end lenses I could afford.  I also planned to move to full frame even though I didn't have one at the time...those combined meant that I chose not to purchase any DX lenses and got me eventually into lenses like the 70-200 above.  Your choices may be different than mine because of what you like to shoot and your reasons for shooting, but I doubt you can go wrong by picking the best lens you can afford for the photos you want to take (note that does NOT mean the most expensive!)...

I have been thinking about the 7100, & would love a newer model to come out, so the price on the 7100 will go down........I'm upgrading from a D5000. Any rumors on the price going down yet?

The D7100 seems pretty awesome, but I didn't upgrade from the D7000 because of the banding problem of the D7100 sensor in the darker areas.  I did get a Pentax K3, and the D7000 is still pretty good, so there isn't much impetus to grab a D7100.  I'd be more interested in a D7200/7300 if the banding problem is eliminated.
