Sandhill cranes coming on to roost for the evening.  The photo shows meerly six birds.  Before the evening was over there were 300-400 birds on this pond in central Florida.

They migrate down in the winter. I have them walking around my neighborhood now.

Leave cold Canado for a week, and I will show you around.  Yes, 300-400 birds was quite the unexpected sight but nothing conpated to Grand Island, Nebraska in April and their stopover along the Platte River.
