I got given a Lighting Kit to play with over the holidays. So I decided I'd start the New Year doing the things I love, training and taking photos. Being New Years Day it's not easy to find suitable models so I figured I'd use myself for the photo shoot after my training session.

Here are some of the photos that I took

(I also left my tripod at home so had to use a lighting stand which worked but limited the angles at which I could shoot).

Here are a couple other photos that didn't involve me as the subject.

Glad to see you lightened it up in the second series. You may have scared some people away with your mean stare in the first ones! We don't have a "show yourself" or member selfies thread yet, but this is a good start.

I like the side light and shadows in the first shot. Great job.
