Years ago I bought a N2020 without lenses. I bought 2 SIGMA lenses the 70-210 UC AF and a lower zoom. I didnt like the wider angled zoom and got rid of it. Likewise I disn't like the N2020 and got rid of it. The SIGMA gave such sharp images, I kept it and used it on my manual focus cameras. Today I tried it on my D200 and was again blown away by the sharpness. Caint wait to try it tomorrow on my N90s! Anyone else out there that likes SIGMA lenses with recommendation of other SIGMA lenses to try?

I have only kept one Sigma lens of all I have tried over the years. It is the 150-600 S version. It is a heavy beast, but unlike most Contemporary and all Art series lenses, the Sports series lenses aren't overcorrected, so they have a quite nice rendering. If I shot more sports, I would have bought a 120-300/2.8 when I tried it. I now use my Z 70-200 S lens on a Z fc instead, when the 120-300 would have been useful...
My dislike for the corrected, slightly sterile rendering is a matter of taste. I seldom look for sharpness as a main criterion and look for a more organic rendering when choosing lenses.

One lens I'm a bit disappointed in is the 30mm f/1.4 EX DC. It's ok stopped down but is soft at 1.4 and I've checked focus. I got the lens for f/1.4 since I have 35/2.8 lenses.

I've had a number of Sigma lenses over the years... The 135-400 f/4-5.6 APO is a decent screw drive AF lens, though the newer 120-400 is probably better. Also the MF or AF 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 APO is a nice lens that can be had cheap. I did own a Sigma 400/5.6 mirror lens and although it wasn't great, it was small and easy to carry. Another cheap and decent is the 70-300 f/4-5.6 APO is quite underrated I think.

you should be that way it was there gen 1 of that 300mm and was learning at that time. i would recommend Sigma over tamron just because the sigma will work on Z body's and tamron you have to look each lens up to see which will or will not work. but if going mirrorless lens i say get tamron one they been test and put threw the works to see if work and and made sure top notch lenses.
