Does using the Reset All Settings option reset the shutter count?

Thanks,

Jack

Just for clarification, do you mean the shutter count or the file numbering?

The shutter count actuations.  What does resetting do to the file numbering?

Thanks,

Jack

The shutter count isn't user-resettable. It wasn't resettable by the independent repair places either and had to be done by Nikon.

If I remember correctly, doing a reset without a card in the camera and inserting a newly formatted card in the camera will restart the number sequence from 0001 on some cameras. I haven't tried if the Z6II is one of them. I don't use the in-camera file names anyway as I set a custom file name on ingestion.

So, if you leave a card you are using in the camera during a reset the number sequence will stay the same?

I would think so. I haven’t played around with these functions.

Thank you for very much for your help, greatly appreciated.

FYI, the reset took the picture count back to 001.
