Hello,

Here are a couple of checks to do, for better identifying the issue:

Is the file in the root directory of the SD card? (Not in any, even by Nikon created, sub directory of the SD card.

In order to ensure this, copy the file using a cardreader from your computer to the SD card, before reinserting the SD card again in the slot on the camera.

If you have problems after having done so, check that the filedownload has not corrupted the file by downloading it again.

Only use files downloaded from the Nikon site - and only those that are provided for your camera model.

Can you please explain or have a look at

Nikon | Download center | D3200 Firmware

Which file are you copying to the SD card?
Have you unpacked the downloaded file? If so, you will have a file ending in .bin (like binary) that you need to copy.

There is no « option » to install the new firmware.
When the camera starts it checks whether there is a valid firmware (.bin) file in the root/main directory. If so, it will install it.

Supposing that it is not a firmware issue, as you have apparently the latest firmware, I have added some suggestions for looking into the live view issue in the other thread

Don't think the camera will let you do this if it's on same firmware level already.

It will state 'done' as you've seen.

May need to visit a repair facility - probably not cost affective with a D3200.
