It is one of your current settings that causes this behaviour.
Without knowing what settings you have chosen, it is not possible to help you.

("cannot start live view at curent setings or under curent conditions")
Batery not original, could that be the problem?

Nikon d3200 update - Nikon DX DSLRs - NikonForums.com
I guess that the liveview error mentioned in this thread was your initial problem which made you want to update the firmware
On top of the reset, you might want to check to
- remove the battery from the camera for at least 24h (ensure for it being fully charged before reinserting)
- try with another lens (to exclude that there is an electronic issue in or caused by the lens)
- eventually clean all accessible (visible) electric contacts with a de-oxidation product and check that the contacts fi in the SDcard slot are not bend.

I’d suggest to bring it to a camera shop to see with one of the local tech guys says. Sending it in to a Nikon repair centre is likely more expensive than the camera’s value.
