These are so good. I just wonder how they would look developed in a developer that brings out the detail in the shadows a bit more. This shadow detail is the strength of HP5, but the negatives usually get a bit thin, and therefore more difficult to scan or copy in XTOL. Have you tried Delta 400? This film or Kodak TMY were the best match for XTOL back in the day.

Thanks, Peter! Appreciated.
Our choice in films is rather limited over here and I haven't come across Delta 400 yet. I'll keep an eye open for it. Thanks for the tip.
Retrocamera seem to carry the full range of Ilford 35 mm film.
Ilford Delta 400 135-36
I do know Retrocamera by name but that's not exactly "in my neighbourhood": two to three hours roundtrip.
Perhaps if I combine the trip with some other activities in that area.
Retrocamera have a solid reputation as a mail-order/e-commerce vendor.
I think I bought some bulk film and fibre-based paper from them some years ago and I found their response time better than most and the postage reasonable. I usually buy locally, but my local dealer doesn't usually stock Ilford MGFB warm tone in the larger sizes. I usually have to order 51x61 paper, and the Swedish mail order vendors seldom stock these large sizes either.
