d800 USB issues

Hello all,

 

I have been struggling to sort out how to effectively use the d800's usb cable, first and foremost for transferring files but I would really like to be able to shoot and have the image appear on my laptop as I go.  I use lightroom but don't really see any option for this, and tutorials online don't seem to help (either outdated or nothing specifically addressing my plight.  I'm having a very tough time getting any help or answers on this pretty basic request.  

 

If there is no known option for this style of shooting I would just like to figure out how to get my photos transferred as I don't have a laptop that supports the sd card in the camera.
