Camera: Coolpix S9900

Second-hand

SD Memory card

So instead of being DSCN1928 it'll be 0001 or a variant. Is there a way to do this? A clean slate.

This is low priority.

I am not sure, but I think you can just format the card and write the last file you uploaded to your computer, renamed to DSCN0001 and it goes from there. The Coolpixes don’t have the custom function menus the DSLRs and MILCs use.

Merco said right. When a picture is taken, the camera names the file by adding one to the last file number used. This option controls whether file numbering continues from the last number used when a new folder is created, the memory card is formatted, or a new memory card is inserted in the camera.

File numbering is reset to 0001 when a new folder is created, the memory card is formatted, or a new memory card is inserted in the camera. And the next photos goes as per the sequence.
