My cousin passed away a few months ago. On a recent visit to his widow she gave me his camera and accessories.

Among the accessories are two filters that I have been unable to fully identify.

The rings have this printed on them:

XIT Pro Series Digital CPL Filter 67MM

XIT Pro Series Digital FL-D Filter 67MM

Can anyone provide me with the type of filters they are?

They are part of a Nikon D5600 camera system that include three lenses.

If needed I can provide the lens ID's.

The CPL is a circular polariser and the FL-D is a filter made for shooting with daylight balanced film under fluorescent lighting back in the analog days. You can use this one to recreate the look we got when shooting PJ style with mixed fluorescent and daylight back in the 90-s. Just set the white balance to daylight, put the filter on and shoot. It is easy to replicate this in post, but it might give you an extra tool in your arsenal.

The polariser is very useful on digital, though.

Nikonian, Thank you. I assumed that the "CPL" might mean Circular Polariser but was clueless on the FL-D.

The kit that I was gifted is a nice upgrade to my D3400.

Mark and his wife traveled a bit and his photos were always a highlight on our visits. I also found that an SD card left in the camera had a number of photos from his last trip to the Masters in Augusta.

Thank you again for your help.

FL-D is florescent daylight used when shooting daylight balanced color film under florescent light to remove the green haze and make the scene natural. Not necessary w/ a digital camera set to auto white balance.
