Hey everyone, this is my first post on the forum, but I am a working professional and know my way around my equipment. I just had a shoot today using my Nikon D4s, and a Lexar Professional 128gb Compact Flash card. During and after the shoot I used the playback function to show my client some of the photos, and everything looked great. I got home to edit and none of the photos I shot today are showing up. The card had photos from a previous shoot I did on the 16th, as well as all the photos ranging back to the beginning of the month but nothing from the shoot today. I put the card back into the camera to see if they would show up in the playback mode, nothing there. I took a couple of photos in my office, took the card out, and put it into my computer and the photos I shot in my office were there. I've never had this issue before, can anyone help? or are all my photos doomed. Thanks-

Try some kind of recovery software on your card. I use RescuePRO, but that choice is just because I get a free license with every memory card I buy from Sandisk. It sounds like a scrambled allocation table.
It happens, but there is less risk of it happening if one has the habit of formating the card in the camera after every shoot.

There is a firmware update just posted for the D4.  I think one of the items changed has to do with addressing a problem like this.  It just might be your day.  Update already available on European Nikon site.
