I bought the D600 when released and loved it. A few months ago I picked it up and got an err message. A local repair shop repaired it. Within a few weeks, same thing. He installed a base plate. Worked perfectly. A week later, err message when I was trying to set CL. Now it will shoot 1 frame and then go err again. The exposure is totally wrong, not salvageable. It's very underexposed as shown in the attached file. Does anyone have an idea what's wrong and if this camera can stay fixed?

Are you sure you posted the correct image? This one looks terribly overexposed to me... with blown out highlights, etc. Also, can you post the EXIF data for this image... or the underexposed image you're referencing.

Sorry. Yes, of course, over. I'm not a professional photographer. Just a writer who started in photography years ago.

Here is an illustration of where to find the arm on the lens:
...and how it should look:
...and where to find the one in the camera:
This one shows reasonably well how it should look.
Sorry about the focus in the first one, it is the middle of the night here and I missed the focus. Too tired to reshoot.

It's night here so I'm better off trying to do detailed work in the morning. However, I recently got a new-to-me lens.
50mm 1.8 AF-S. My other lens is a 85mm 1.8 AF. The 85 looks like the one in your photo. The 50mm not so much.
The problem occurred with the 50mm. I wonder if you're onto something.
How did you get the photos to post in the message?

Since the D600 isn't doing what it was, I assume Merco_61 was onto something. Maybe the stopdown linkage was sticking or
parts weren't lining up. It's working now. Not the first time I've said that this year. I hope it continues to work. Thank you for the help and patience.
