Shooting Dx and Fx at the same time

Hello,I'm not sure if it's the right place to post this.

I find myself temporarily in the need to use together in some of social shootings an Fx camera (D750) with a dx (D7100) as a second camera. I have a sigma 17-50-1.8, and two prime lenses 50mm/1.8 and 85mm/1.8. (some of my gear was stolen (D750+24-70)😔

Could you advise me how I can use this gear configuration and which lense could I use on which camera, and what lenses (preferably prime) could I buy to have a more or less complete range, taking into account that the main camera would be the D750.

The Sigma f/1.8 zoom is 18-35, do you mean the Sigma 17-50/2.8?
 

The zoom works well on the DX body, whichever lens it is. It will force the D750 into DX mode if you use it on this body. 
 

Use the zoom on the D7100 and the primes in the D750.

 

The 50 and 85 are a good start on a classic PJ trio, you just need a 24/1.8 to round out the set. If you use both bodies with the primes, you get a ladder of 24, 36 equivalent, 50, 75 equivalent, 85 and 127.5 equivalent. This should work well for most event work unless you need something even wider than a 24.

 

My set for events for many years were all manual focus on two FX bodies. Ai 24/2.8, Ai 50/1.2 and Ai 105/2.5, sometimes with an old Ai-converted 35/2 as a wider normal. The bodies were F2 at first, followed by F4, Kodak DCS PRO and then D700. The lenses were replaced with 24/1.8, 35/1.8, 50/1.8D and DC 105/2 when I got my D750-s as Katzeye were out of business and I couldn’t get a good focusing screen for manual focus for the new bodies.
