Hello, my D750 seems stuck in self timer delay, with a noticeable delay between pressing the shutter and the camera taking the picture. It had been stored in self timer mode. The dial is set in S at the moment (I have also tried continuous modes without success, and tried changing it multiple times in and out of self timer to S or other options). I have tried changing out the battery, changing lenses, switching memory cards, and various shooting modes (e.g., auto, shutter or aperture priority, etc). Thanks very much for any advice.

At this point, since you've tried just about everything else, I guess I'd try a camera reset. By the way, when you take out the battery, it's usually a good idea to wait a few minutes... 15 is a good number, before reinstalling it.

Good luck!

Have you checked the values set in Menu > Custom settings?

I don’t have a camera at hand, so I don’t remember the exact parameter code, but it must be one of the c-settings (if I remember well). Here you can enter and modify such delays.

>>>> EDITED

I checked on a camera (D610) and while it is not in the c- it is in the d-settings. The issue that you describe sounds very much linked to the setting
d10 « Exposure delay mode »
If you want the camera to take the picture without delay, set the d10 setting to OFF

On the D750, the self timer value is set in Custom Menu > c3 (page 337 in manual).

The exposure delay is set under d4 (page 339)

Many thanks. I went to a camera store. It took the guys there awhile but they were able to fix it.
