When out birding, I default to a burst mode, as I don't always have time to switch modes before the opportunity goes away. With this in mind, would it make more sense to also default to AF-F? Is so, when shooting stationary birds, is it OK to leave on AF-F, or could this present focus problems for situations where the wind moves a leaf, or a small stick blows across the viewable area?

AF-S or AF-F for birding with my P1000

I would experiment with AF-F and using the AF-L/AE-L button with AF lock only activated to control focus with stationary subjects if someone put a P1000 camera in my hands. I am not familiar enough with Coolpixes to know if this is the best way, but it should work…
