I went to a small punk festival yesterday, but not 80's punk... A couple of the early punk bands decided to hold a free festival with a mix of new talent who hold the spirit and attitude of early punk alive and reunions of old acts.

First, photos of the presenters.

The singers for Rune Strutz... (Rune is a man's name that none of the members have and Struts is ostrich. The z is aimed at the substitution of s with z in the names of Swedish dance bands in the 70's, mocking it.)

... and Butter Utter. (Grumpy Otter if you translate to English.)

First out on stage was Tilly Jorlin, a very talented singer and guitarist in search of a band.

Can you get more punk than opening a festival without a backing band, aged 17?

I well break this into three posts to keep to a manageable length for each one.

Next up were Butter Utter. They were among the first five punk bands in Sweden.

Rune Strutz' singer was kind enough to provide some smoke by waving the smoke machine around...

Rune Strutz' bass player sat in on drums for one song.

Did I belt out like that?

Next up were Complete Nonsense. They weren't booked to play and didn't have their gear, but got up on stage with borrowed instruments and did a nice little set.

I think your set puts the across feeling of the event.

The last concert I went to was Genesis in 1972.
As always, I have a finger on the pulse of the masses.

Not a big punk rock fan, but this set looks pretty cool.

The only photo that I don't care for in the set is the second Tilly Jorlin pic. The mic placements makes it look weird. The others are good tho... especially the last one in her set.

I'm glad you kept shooting when the kids came one with their borrowed instruments. Looks like they were really getting to it.

Like Pete, it's been awhile.... a very long while actually, since I've been to any concert. I envy you.
