The more I use this Venus Optics 2:1 lens, the better I like it. My only gripe with it is that the focus throw is too short.

Is it an FX lens? Your Zfc is DX, right?

It is an FX lens, I use it on my Z6II with good results. I have preferred DX bodies for macro work ever since the D300 days as the crop gives a bit of extra magnification in the prints. 

Yes, the Zfc is DX.

 

The lens is available in F-mount, but with an aperture with fewer blades.
