Hi all, I am a newcomer to the Nikon camera recently acquiring a Coolpix P1000 so a lot yet to learn about the camera.

My other cameras currently also in use are Minolta Dynax 7D's of which I have three bodies and a multitude of lenses and accessories, most of these I will be disposing off over the coming months.

I am 83 going on 84 in January and reside in N.S.W Australia, I generally have an interest in social and historical recording.

The major reason why I have picked the Nikon P1000 is to reduce or even eliminate the need to take all my currently own equipment with me when out and about.
