RAW file exif data showing in-camera settings. Should this be happening?

Really sorry. I'm using a D810 and shoot both RAW and jpeg files. I use Capture NX Studio and NIK Collection for processing. I prefer Capture NX2, but it is no longer supported on my Mac.
I'm grateful for any information or advice. Jeff

The Nikon software uses the in-camera settings as a starting point for the raw conversion, unlike the third-party applications. The EXIF shows the settings in the camera the moment you press the trigger…
