We moved home last month with very little furniture. This was because most of the cupboards were 'built-in'.

Therefore, yesterday was Ikea day. Selecting & transporting draw chests during the morning. Assembling draw chests during the afternoon.

The result meant no pictures taken.

Today, set off towards the beach in the afternoon.

It was hot.

Nearly all my snaps were rubbish.

I hereby submit two which were less rubbish than the others.

Crabs!

I took a walk to the biological museum, Biotopia nowadays.

The building is beautiful, even if it looks a bit strange compared to old photos as the windows and skylights that were originally the only lighting have been blocked off since the artificial lighting was installed.

A bit more accessible...

I passed the river on my way home.

Just some stuff in the back yard, was waiting on some butterflies and humming birds, but they had business elsewhere I suppose.

Smoochi'n Pooches  what looks like a cardboard box on the ground behind and left is a cardboard sheet tacked to a bullet trap.  I made it with a pair of nails welded to the front so I could just hang a precut cardboard sheet for a target.  The trap catches the pellets or .22 bullets to be recycled later into new cast bullets for reloading.

Thanks Ron. There've often been times when I thought, 'I wish I hadn't picked this lens'.

However, it's giving me more experience with the 12-24mm, which is priceless.

Thanks is due to Peter for resurrecting this challenge.

Well, it's obviously a string of lights, but is it from a reflective surface?

Last year I used my 20-35mm f2.8 D  There were times I wished I had more range, but I appreciate that lens a whole lot more now.  The front of the old school house was probably my most difficult shot, the front sits very close to the road with a 7-8 foot bank dropping to the road.  20mm still wasn't wide enough to capture the entire with of the front, so I settled for what I could shoot holding the camera, (D700) above my head to shoot.  I just couldn't get things quite right, I settled for the below image, it's a bit leaning back which can easily happen with super wide settings.

The lights are giant lightshades, shot straight up.

I shot them at night back in early May in a more normal orientation.

Today's idea was to shoot some conceptual art that decorates a city square not far from home.

I couldn't resist these dramatic clouds and light on the way, though.

Disaster. My Sigma 12-24 now has an auto-focus fault. Pressing the focus button, the focus motor very gradually moves but never actually reaches the focus point.

Tried it on the D3300, exactly the same.

Have yet to discus it with the supplier, as it's still under warranty.

For the purposes of the challenge, I'll use my 24-85mm & leave it set to 24mm.
