just order this lens will be at my place this sat along with canon photo printer only. so will have to things to test out. i hope this lens will be great for volley ball in poor light gym. reason got cheap then 24-70mm F/2.8 lens for $900 before tax great deal and ordering sigma 120-300mm F/2.8 for sports also.

well tried out lens in room in poor light shoot great at F/2.8. one thing to think about with this lens. it will zoom out some and make camera front heavy. so make you want to up it more with some weight behind it. also feel more front heavy then 120-300mm lens not sure why. but at least 120-300mm will give spot to hold level with hardly any weight behind it.

okay the lens is fast and good. only issue had with the lens one not on and off for af to manual have to do in camera. other issue had if shooting wide open to windy had hard time get focus on umpire and lady's on pitcher mound and short stop. other then that great lens.

I can’t think of any non-S lens in Z-mount except the micronikkors that has the A/M switch. Is it full-time manual so one can touch up focus manually or does it need to be switched to manual focus?

I have been thinking about getting one as I have always liked the rendering of the transition between sharp and blurry in the Tamron that this is probably based on. It would probably be a bit redundant as I do have the 24-70/4 S already and the Tamron 28-75 in F-mount.

its autofocus lens. to save money they do not have switch for it. so have to go into camera to change if for af to manual. mecro i would go to camera store try it out. or rent one see if you like or not. only had 12-24mm dx lens. o have 24-70mm F/4 lens. but for volleyball in poor lighting gym need F/2.8 lens and this will get photo done.  going to few in post

more example

not sure why can not post these files and 28-75mm example files

more samples at volleyball game it works great but to many people in the way make hard to get locked on focus

also only photo i could upload do to file size why i post my flickr account to share rest from volleyball the lens is great and keeps up. its other people in the way that slow down the lens to auto focus since trying to get past or around other people in the way.
