New to the forum, but not new to Nikon. I own from a 1960s F to a five or so year old D750.  I've just discovered I really like my old105mm f/2.5 ai lens on the D750.

Welcome to the forums!
Congratulations on discovering the 105 Ai on digital. It is not as perfect for portraits as the even older   Sonnar 105/2.5, nor is it as nice for general short tele work as the 105/1.8 Ais, but it is one of the best generalist short teles of all time.
