Iam a beginner maybe just a bit experienced.   I had read somewhere in Nikon website about the below and still can not find it again. Question below

I have Nikon Z5 camera :  When using my Nikon Z24-200 4-6.3 lens ,and change the settings from FX to DX, what happens??  Will I get further Zoom ,and if so, do I loose Pixel count?? In Nikons website under Education or somewhere, their was a good video explaining this and can't find it.  Many Thanks

The camera will crop the image, using just the central 16x24mm portion of the sensor rather than the full 24x36mm.  This may have seem like "more zoom" but it's nothing more than a crop that will produce smaller files.

When you crop to DX size, you will get a narrower field of view but only somewhere around 10 megapixels. In practical use, this means that you will see a lower quality in prints larger than A4 size, rather than at A3+ or so without the crop.
