This is perhaps 'over-kill'.

Stereo post boxes and a post office just in case you need a stamp.

Corner-post masquerading as a post-box.

This high-lights a dangerous bend,

rather than a place to send.

Low self-esteem among smaller boxes is a problem which the Post Office is now struggling to deal with.

Many have had to take early retirement, as they felt they could no longer face the public.

Thoughtless people make comments like, 'Oh, I'll just put the letter in this little box - I hope they empty it and it gets delivered'.

This lamp-post box became ill at the beginning of last year.

It can now only function partially by hiding in a bush.

However, this one soldiers on – just.

More dressing-up. This time, to celebrate our Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

It's wonderful, people decorating the box's, but it probably wouldn't fly here.  The Gov't would probably charge you with a crime, or someone would walk off with it.

Funny you should say that, just after I took the picture in post #24, a member of staff from the shop it's outside removed the woollen 'topper'.

It had just started raining, so that was probably the reason.

Today, the 'topper' was back on the box.

Now here's a real rarity. An Edward the VIII box.

He only reigned 326 days, yet the General Post Office had enough time to install a box front with his insignia on.

Stop me if you think there's a parallel to this thread and train-spotting.

No, I for one am happy to view them!

Quite artful, the people who knit the ''Toppers'' and I was wondering about rain.  Nice of the staff member to take it inside to keep it nice.

Because you gave the wrong answer, here's a George V box, that hides under tree about 1/2 mile from me.

However, this is the last unless I come across any structurally different boxes.

Just reviving this thread with a seasonal snap of another post box 'topper' on one of Birchington's boxes.

For the sake of completeness, a post box in a wall.

Only noticed this today in Westgate:
