Hello all,

I am a natural light, newborn, maternity and children photographer. I have a D700 which I love and a D800 wich I hate. I want to upgrade since my D700 is about 10 years already, and I am thinking about going mirrorless.

Which mirrorless Nikon camero do you think works the best for my work? I am tempted to go to the Z7ii but I have read confliting opinions from other photographers.

Some say all good things, but some say they don't like the focus, that is misses the focus a lot, they say the raw image is totally differnt from their previous cameras to the pont they have to change all their actions.

I hate my D800 because the image is so flat and I totally hate the WB, compared to my D700. Even working on it in ACR and photoshop I hate and final result, so I am afraid it may happen with this mirrorless system.

What I would like to ask you is your opinion about raw files of the mirrorless specially the z7ii and comparing to the D700 how diferent it can be in terms of raw image? Also, upgrading from a D700 which would be your next camera?

Thank you for your attention

Try some other raw converters before you give up on the D800. Getting the most out of D800 files with ACR is doable, but Capture NX-D, Photo Ninja, CaptureOne or DXO makes life easier. Using Photo Ninja, I can mix and match files from D300, D700, D7200, D750, Z50, Z fc, Z6II and Leica D-Lux 7 in the same slideshow without tweaking the output. To do the same with ACR, I would have to profile the light for every sensor using a colorchecker chart.
