Scotty,
I'll be in Glasgow the first week of August 2023. Gotta attend a wedding... (not as the photographer, thankfully!)
I've only been once before, sadly for the loss of my Stepson, a decade ago. Maybe this time, I'll enjoy Glasgow a bit more? I do hope to get at least one day out in the countryside, with a distillery tour, if I'm lucky.
I'm shooting a Nikon Df, mostly using the Nikkor 28-105 f/3.5 AF lens. I'm shopping for a classic Tokina 17mm rectilinear wide angle, and I'll be curious if you'd post your wildlife pics with the 200mm you're using. I think I'm going to look for something in the 100~300 zoom range, and those three lenses will be IT for my camera bag. I'm trying to keep it light, for a change!
For non-travel purposes, I've just bought the Novatron adapter to connect the Nikon to my Vortex Razor 27x60x85 Angled Eyepiece spotting scope. I bought the scope for long range riflery sports, but it's resolution is so incredible, I'm eager to hook the DSLR to it, and see what I can achieve.
Anyway, here's raising a glass to Scotland! I'm looking forward to my visit to your shores.
