I have a D850 and I need a flash for it. Will the yongnuo yn986N work. The flash menu on my camera is grayed out. Only certain flashes will activate the menu on the camera

All third-party speedlites that support i-TTL and/or CLS should work on the D850.

I used a Metz 58 AF 2 with my D850. Worked fine.

The Nikon SB-700 AF Speedlight is nice (I have this flash).  The SB-5000 is nice if you eventually want wireless.  Or you can also go for, Godox V860II-S TTL.

Why should the OP go for the Sony version of the Godox?
