Mother Nature has provided North Texas with a gentle reminder of last February's sub-zero blast...only below freezing temperatures this time, a little snow but mostly sleet and freezing rain.

Went out to take some snaps around a park in the town centre, but noticed this along the river.
You just never know what you're going to get!

Mea culpa for dropping a second shot in this thread but the weather has returned to normal so I ventured past the front door today.
Apparently almost everyone heard the command "Eyes Front"...not judgin', just sayin'.

Thanks. Yes, camera phones are extremely good these days and they seem to get significantly better every two or three years. That, I suspect, is because they rely mainly on software and processing power. Computational Photography, I believe they call it - I read an article about it recently and it’s fascinating.
Mine is just an old iPhone 8 so it’s way behind the state of the art. I’ll replace it this year and I’m looking forward to seeing what a more modern one can do. The ‘Night Mode’ on the newer ones is quite incredible.
I would like to see what could be done with Computational Photography and a bigger sensor and interchangeable lenses. Maybe that’s something OM Systems (Olympus’s camera division that was) could be doing to carve out a USP for themselves - although, presumably, a bigger sensor would require vastly more processing power. Interesting times…
UPDATE: I read today, that OM Digital Systems are going to announce a new camera next week that does indeed use computational photography!
