Following an most stupid accident and the consequent operation,

short hospitalisation and now convalescence at home, I can not
stand alone on my two legs — specially with one that must be up
all the time.

I know this is gonna be limited in time but that time without shoot-
ing is driving me nuts… no studio work, no on location shootings.

So, I play chess or cards with my daughter when she's home and
some guitar too but not in a confortable position. I spend time put-
ting my gear bags in order and cleaning everything (at least twice
a day! ) feeling unsettled and useless.

My doctor paid me a visit: "Let's see… this is all spectacular, you
are healing very well and quite fast. Any pain? Do you need some
sort of medication?"

Yes, against boredom and the losing streak to my daughter.

Really sorry to read this @NS. I thought there must be a reason we haven't seen any posts from you for awhile.

I wish you a quick & full recovery.

I also understand how devastating it is to constantly be in checkmate.

Well my friend, I too was about to send the Mounties with a compliment of St. Bernard dogs after you fearing you might be the next, ''Ice Man'' found several thousand years in the future by Alpine hikers during a freak thaw!  Whatever act of dumbness you performed to get yourself into a convalescent state, remember not to do it again.

I know you have a bright imagination and I would bet you could find some joy in photographing some ''still lifes'' while recuperating.

I didn't see it coming… :(

My son showed up for supper and Anna told him that I was hard to live with

since I'm nailed down. Me? Nah…

Playful as he is and being my right hand in all shootings, he proposed to help
me ease off a bit and promised to do exactly as I say for a tabletop exercise.

While I was looking for compositional subjects in the prop room with my daugh-
ter, he got the studio ready: flashes, MacPro, the tabletop and I cooked up this
that I call "3D pin portrait of my son", taken with the 85 PC — along with the 100
macro, my favourite lenses for studio work.

After that session, I got beaten again by Anna!  :o

That's a great shot, I knew you had it in you!  Now, a few larger feathers and a lesson from J. Townsend and son you could practice your quill making skills!  (just kidding about the quills)

Sorry to read about your accident. Hopefully you'll be fully mended and out prowling around real soon.

Oh, I do a lot of that — as long as I keep that leg up in my wheelchair.

From the front door to the coffee machine, it is about twelve meters!
An expedition in thoughts where I cross the jungle of chairs in the kit-
chen, the salt flats of the corridor pass by the steep mountain of stairs
to the second floor, the cavernous volumes of the entrance to finally
reach the treasure marked with an "X", namely, the mailbox.

"Ten more days to go!" said the doctor!

Sounds way scary! Especially the mailbox part! Tread carefully! :o

Of course… am I not the hero of these expeditions back and forth?

Today, I went twice to the coffee machine but this time

with the crutches… boy am I clumsy with these things:

I bump in every trees on the way and sink in the sand.

I hope to visit, surprise the doc on Monday with those.

My doctor removed all stitches on Wednesday and had only
good news for me. Thursday, I fell in the stairs with the crut-
ches and did not realise the wound had open again because
of the bandage. Friday, the doctor could not ignore the lost
blood and sent me to the hospital for deeper controls.

Once there, I had to explain — shamefully — how it happened

and was reassure that there will be no other consequence then
a longer healing time under the condition I don't try skydiving
at home anymore …rats!

I don't think 'unlucky' quite covers your situation!

Stay put & let someone else do the room service.

The problem is me… too dumb to realise, too proud to ask.  :o
