Thanks Bart.

I can't remember taking the shot, but came across it the other day in my album of 'historical' b&w pictures from 40 odd years ago!

I suspect the lens was a 135mm f2.8 bought from a work-mate.

The Practica MTL3 was my pride & joy, but eventually the battery in the exposure meter section 'leaked' making it non-functional.

I had to guess the settings until I bought a Vivitar 45 meter.

Then - children arrived! It became increasingly inconvenient to use our bathroom as a darkroom. Photography got shelved.

Digital offers a less cumbersome alternative  :)

I have never developed myself, much to my godfather's dismay.

He always tried to persuade me how much fun and how easy it was to develop b&w films.

At that time, I used slides only so that was a moot argument  :)

It was a very engaging process, & very entertaining. I wouldn't go back to it though, mainly due to the huge input of time & to some extent, money.

We all have it very easy now!

Click - view - delete. It's now almost green compered to those days.

Excepting or course, the cost to our environment, constantly producing new equipment that will be cast aside within a few years.
