My attempted post of yesterday seems to have disappeared so I'll try again.

I have a D3000 which does NOT do video but I can't switch to using the LCD screen instead of the viewfinder. I have tried Googling but all I can find is "press the LV button" - I can't do that as I don't have one!

Is it possible to use the LCD to frame pictures or is it viewfinder only?

As far as I'm aware, the D3000 doesn't have live view.  That feature was added on subsequent D3xxx series models, though.

The D3000 doesn't have live view, the D3100 is the first in the 3000 series that has that function
