HI guys. Happy New Year to all. Just joined this forum, I have been an avid Nikon user for at least 40 years and have just acquired a Nikon D2Xs in impeccable condition and with less than 19,000 shutter count..!!

I was looking for something for Santa to bring me but I had all but exhausted my searches when, lo and behold, up pops an item for sale on my local Facebook sales page. Now, in the general scheme of things, this could be a very loud alert and warning but where I live, in the Isle of Man everyone knows everyone else so there's absolutely no mileage in attempting to rip people off. The seller wanted £100.00 for this camera body..!!

So, on Christmas Day, I unboxed this beauty. I did come in its original box, with manual, quick start guide, all the cables, DVD's body caps and D2XS strap. I'm delighted with this beast. I have even managed to source a spare battery for it, I'm just waiting for a screen protector.

So, anyone out there own one of these cameras, or had experience of them? I'd love to hear your thoughts and views.

Hello Tom

can't tell you anything about the D2xs.

I see Nikon offer EN-EL4A batteries at an eye-watering £129.

I use Duracell's version of the EN-EL15 for my D800E, which are much cheaper than original Nikon versions.

I find they last quite well.

I note that they also have a version of the EN-EL4A at £36

I have no business connection with Duracell.

Indeed the OEM batteries are a tad expensive. I found a supplier, London based, who does the EN-EL4A for £28.00, so I have two on order.
