An example of extreme recycling at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Redundant consumer items cobbled together to make a monster.

Fuji A201 2MP point & shoot.

Reminds me of an episode of, ''Sanford and Son''.

Ah yes - we didn't have that over in UK. We had Steptoe & Son.

Wilfred Bramble & Harry H Corbit.

Wilfred absolutely hated Harry because he thought he wasn't a 'proper' actor.

However, you couldn't guess that from their performances!

I believe Sanford and Son is an Americanized version of Steptoe and Son, junk dealers always coming up with some wild plot to get rich.  One episode Fred, the father takes up ''art'' and welds together a great mountain junk in the yard claiming he's created a masterpiece!  That was one of the funnier shows of the 70's.

I researched Sanford & son - found various episodes on youtube.

Very much 'of the time' production-wise!

Yeah, it wouldn't fly with the current generation or two of thin skinned over sensitized snot-blossums we have dictating culture and protesting everything now.

The insults were fantastic!

Aunt Ester-''Fred, you old fish-eyed fool!''

Fred-''Ester, I could stick your face in some dough and make some gorilla cookies!''

They had a great cast and writers, one of the best 1/2 hour comedies ever!

Sadly, there are now a whole host of sitcoms that will never get aired again.

We're all far too PC for that now.

We still get them here, and you-tube even has some of the scenes they didn't even air.

My favorite British comedy is the old, ''Are You Being Served?''  what a cast!  Mr. Mash, the maintenance man was great, didn't mind putting ''Capt. Peacock'' in his place at all, and Mr. Grainger, sleeping or looking for his pork chop sandwich!  Great comedy!

Now you mention, I notice 'Till death us do part' is available on youtube - that surprised me.

My all-time favourite would be Tony Handcock's radio & TV series.

And acceptable in today's world.

Some of the best radio and movies on you tube are by Jean Shepherd, (A Christmas Story-little Ralphie and his B-B gun).  He has a few movies based on his stories and hours of timeless tales from his radio days.  Great stuff!
