What is the most straightforward approach to tethering when all I need is a live view on my Windows laptop of what my Nikon Z6 camera screen is showing?

I want to display live composition in a home studio setting and recently taken images stored on the internal camera card.  I prefer not to transfer files to the laptop as I do all of my edits on a desktop, and moving large files causes a lag.

I loaded NX Tether and successfully connected to my camera, but I only saw camera controls, no image.

Would the Webcam Utility be a good option?  It seems like overkill to install both NX Tether and an editing program like NX Studio.  If that is required, does NX Studio allow viewing images from the camera card?

I am going to provide the simple alternative to tradition tethering that I discovered in case others have the same question.  No special software needed; just a HDMI cable with the plug that fits the camera along with an HDMI Video Capture device (looks like a USB thumb drive and available on Amazon for under $20).  Plug the HDMI cable directly into the camera, the other end into the Video Capture Card, and the USB output on the Video Capture card into the laptop.  Launch the "Camera App" that is built into Windows 10.  It will start using the laptop camera.  Now select the icon for other cameras and chose the USB camera input.  With your camera turned on you will now get an identical, but larger, live view of what the camera screen is displaying.

In a home studio setting this allows me and the subject to set up poses and review pictures.  No lag from data transfer; simple and exactly what I wanted.  Seeing the larger images helps me make lighting adjustments.  The subject and others present can participate in real time, un-edited review.  Let me know if this helps; suggestions welcome.
