Hello all

I added a 5" feelworld external monitor to my D5300, i can only see photos and videos from my SD card on the external monitor, but cannot get live view to work.

I bought that external monitor because i badly needed a larger screen to help me focus when doing video.

What am I doing wrong? Why is live view not working on my external monitor?

ive browsed google and no help on that.

I did see some posts mentioning putting manual video settings to off. But that did not help me either. I have updated my firmware to latest version too.

Help please!

Hello

these type of questions seem to be asked from time to time.

The only way I can get ‘live view’ to show on a tablet or smart phone is to use a video capture device.

Simply plugging an HDMI cable from camera to device does not work.

I use a video capture device similar to this one shown below.

The only problem with this setup, is that there is a slight delay on the image supplied to the viewing device.

This makes focusing rather difficult.
