Hi, I have a D700 and a Vello Freewave wireless remote, and I can't get them to work together.  They have been unused for quite a while, but I remember it working just fine when I bought the remote.

The shutter will not trigger.  The transmitter works, the receiver works, they communicate, and the transmitter will cause the camera to focus, but not release the shutter.  The release dial is set to remote.  I thought that maybe the battery was weak in the receiver, but even hooked up to a power supply, it won't trigger the shutter.

Any ideas on what I could be missing?

Thanks.

If you move the release dial to something except remote, it will start to listen on the remote port instead of the IR port on a D7000. This might be what you are missing.

The remote setting on the release dial is for the ML-L3, not for something plugged into the camera.
