When it comes to neck straps for our beloved Nikons, we all love to show off that lovely black strap with it's gold writing on to let the world know we're using one of the top two DSLR brands in the world.

As nice as they are, I feel that DX users should also have the model of camera on the strap like those striking FX camera straps. I know it's only a trivial matter but why is this option not rolled out by Nikon? Even the D300 has it. If you're not fussed, then you can keep your standard strap, but I personally would like to see DX model numbers on the strap.

Same reason why you don't see people wearing clothing with compact car logo's but you do with super car logos.

I have a D600 and a 7000 as a back up body I do a lot off event photography late at night one thing I have learnt over the years is not to advertise what gear you are carrying . Just my preference for my safety to not advertise how much money is invested in that small by most peoples standards plane no name camera bag slung over my shoulder.

I would second the comment above from wedgtall above. I want to have the best gear I can afford, but I do so to capture the shots, not to impress anyone with my kit. I do understand you wanting to demonstrate how pleased you are with a partical Nikon model, however, I would rather that someone did not have a go at pinching my camera gear. Low profile and fly under the radar.

Those neckstraps are soooo uncomfortable I have no idea why you'd even put it on the camera to begin with. 10 minutes with a heavy lens and you'd swear they made the strap out of 50 grit sandpaper and barbed wire. ;)

Both of my cameras came with Nikon logo straps with the camera model printed on them.

No need to advertise for Nikon!  I really can't say that I fly under the radar when I'm out on a field with a big lens!  My D7000 has the strap that it came with on it - mostly because it is my 3rd camera and I've really never gone to find another strap for it...Neither of my D600s have a strap normally.  One will get attached to a lens and monopod and the strap isn't needed there.  I have an easily attached strap that I can attach to the other via the tripod mount or to the lens' tripod mount if that would be the better choice...

To be honest I've wondered the same thing when I had my D7000.

I like my Nikon D800E strap, I found after I got the camera that the D7100 strap felt small and thin and wasn't as comfortable to carry. I don't feel my camera is any less safe with the logo put on the camera either because when I am not carry it it is in the same bag as my D7100 and its bright orange so I can keep a closer eye on them. I am a proud Nikon owner and I like the model of the camera printed on the strap as well. Sure wish they made the same type of strap for my D7100 and D60. My thoughts anyways

Best straps I ever had were ones I made...tooled leather and I worked and worked them until they were nice and soft...made them for all three of my Pentax MX bodies at the time...each tooled differently...did the same for a waist strap for my camera bag at the time too...took a bit of the weight off my shoulder and definitely secured it to my side...

I usually always buy a new camera strap, and one with extra padding.  I've never used the Pentax or Nikon straps that have come with my DSLRs.  My Samsung NX20 I just left the little Samsung one on there, though.

Another reason why I like my BlackRapid straps - no writing on them = less of a target for ne'er-do-wells I feel.

I have some of Nikon's original straps in my aeromodelling field box. I use them as security tethers to run engines in the pits. I found them very uncomfortable compared to the Op-tech pro straps I actually use for my cameras.

The best straps I have had were the Kodak Elite freebies one got with a brick or can of film in the nineties.

Okay, I am such a girl. I have this camera strap:

http://www.bhphotovi...s=REG&A=details

I got rid of the Nikon strap immediately because a) it was uncomfortable, b ) it was ugly, and c) I didn't feel the need to advertise what camera I was carrying. The strap above has some padding, so it's more comfortable than the Nikon strap, but I'm thinking I will soon switch to a wrist strap or the Black Rapid strap.

Oh this is so true. When I do all-day events with primarily a 70-200mm...oh, I ache just thinking about it. I have a wedding and reception to shoot next weekend...maybe I should get that Black Rapid strap sooner rather than later.

Black Rapid strap is one of the best things I purchased last year, well apart from the D7100.

BlackRapid is the strap I move between my D600s.  I do have the provided D7000 strap on that camera, but it isn't used frequently and it seems to work well with the two different length straps when I do need it...

I just don't like the camera hanging upside down with the Black Rapid straps, or the way it screws into the tripod mount.  As with anything that screws, it can feasibly come loose and then if your camera falls head first, that's all she wrote.  I like fool proof straps that can't possibly detach in any way.

I have a Crumpler Singapore Sling. I had to import it from the UK since it's not natively sold here in the US but it's totally worth it. The most comfortable strap I've ever had!

They look like great straps, I'm looking for something for the 7100, this might just be the one as I also dont like the idea of the BlackRapid.

Avoid the white one ... they get nasty after wearing them for an afternoon in the hot summer sun. Trust me. Mine is not exactly "white" anymore. LOL
