I am using a Nikon AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300 mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR Lens with mt D3300 camera, and processing the NEF with RawTherapee software on Linux. On zooming in the image, I find chromatic aberrations -- blue lines appearing on long contours. [A sample photo is attached]
Is there a way to solve the problem?

A few things to try:
1. Ensure the focus is accurate
2. Stop down by an extra stop or two
3. Reduce the exposure slightly
As this looks like a pretty tight crop, the whole image may not be quite as bad as it may appear. Software should be able to fix most of the aberrations for you.

Yes, the overall image is not all that bad. The effect is not visible there.
Regarding software, I am using RawTherapee. Though there is a feature for correcting chromatic aberration, it is not so effective in these images.
