Hi all,

Looking for help with a strange problem. Just got a D600 and tried using the 18-105 DX but I'm seeing a strange image like I'm looking in a cardboard tube when using the viewfinder. The image does not have smooth side and it's not really cylindrical.

I don't get this kind of image when using LiveView, there is some vignetting when zooming. I've changed the cameras Image Size in the menu to Auto DX crop but it's still there when looking through the viewfinder.

I've also changed the Choose Image area to DX but that does not help either. I've also used this lens on my D810 without any problems. I'm thinking that this D600 has some sort of 'restriction' perhaps and can only use FX lenses? I also have a Tamron 70-300 zoom which works without any sort of viewfinder anomaly.

Any ideas on this issue?

Thank you in advance!

Steve
