We have a Blue Heron visiting our Town Pond here in Brentwood , England. It is gradually eating all the FISH that people have put in there. I waited to see if it caught one for a snap but  no luck -- just a boring shot of it standing but never mind !  I was trying a TAMRON adaptall 2 lens 300mm f5.6 on  NIKON FE2  and took this at full aperture as light was bad for 125 rated film --  outdated Fuji 'SURVEICOLOR ' cut from a bulk tin given some years ago.

Nice photo - looks like the 300/5.6 is a good sharp lens.  I recently inherited a D100 and purchased an adaptall2 to F a/i adapter, but I couldn't get infinity focus with the two adaptall lenses I have.

Heron do tend to stand around motionless a lot....
