Hi

I'm very new to landscape photography.  I'm using a D3200 with a cokin dark filter.  I use the filter to get interesting effects with water and I don't have the problem every time.  I've uploaded an example, I wondered if it was light getting in behind the filter but any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Steve

If you're referring to the crescent shaped blob at the bottom, that's definitely either lens flare or an artifact introduced by your filter when shooting into the sun. I would suggest shooting comparison shots of the same subject from the same perspective with both the filter mounted and unmounted to nail it down. Sometimes you can minimize this type of aberration by shielding your lens with a piece of cardboard or sometimes just your hand. Just be sure that you don't include your sun shield or hand in the photograph.

Many thanks Ron - I'll give that a try
