A member of the Hutton & Shenfield 'Rotary Club' who owned s shop with his wife told me one day " Peter, I've got a Rolleiflex " when he knew  I did NOT have one --  he said he got it off a local Press Photographer who I knew. " OK Tony " I said " If you like I can check it out for you, clean lenses etc all free " but he would never let me see it never mind BREATH on it !  Years went by -- one day i got a phone call -- " Tony's Wife -- you know he DIED -- well I have a box of Old Camera Stuff going to be Dumped but if you and Your Boy WANT it come over " -- so we RUSHED to the little shop ..  The Widow brought out a huge cardboard Dust Covered Box --  inside was an OLYMPUS OM2n with 2 lenses , TWO Olympus XA 2's with Presentation Boxes. and old phone -- further down was a filthy Dusty Brown Case -- inside was the infamous Rolleiflex E Xenotar  that I was  never allowed to see !   Well you can imagine -- the taking lens was Scratched by the Press Photographer Peter White , previous owner , the film Winder was faulty, there was a PIN broken off the base where the back latch is -- but I tried it out --   Slight LIGHT leaks . I had it serviced by a former ROLLEI  technician who I knew through my Camera Club --  he made  a new PIN, lubricated the WIND, cleaned the lenses and it is SHARP at f2.8 and works well -- here are a few snaps --

The majority look great, the old lady sitting on the bench has a strange light line about waist level up a few inches, then there's the strange shadow down her arm and coat.  I don't see it in the other photos.

That is because it was a sample of how Camera behaved BEFORE it was 'serviced'  it had a light leak .
