I recently upgraded to a D750 from a D7100. I also purchased the new Tamron 70-200 G2. Both work great. The other day I threw on my Nikon 80-400 AFS that I've had for about 7 years. In about 75 shots there were a couple of times during a burst where it sounded like the shutter stalled. The closest sound I can compare it to was the sound the built-in flash makes when it flips up. Any idea what this could be? I'm wondering if maybe the firmware in the 80-400 is out of date since I did not experience this with the Tamron in about 2000 shots so far. Thanks in advance.

Since you said it happened in a burst of shots, it is quite possible that you filled up the camera's buffer.  That would certainly be true if there were several shots in your burst.  Several could vary depending on the speed of the card you are writing to.
