Help !!   New member here --  today out with my lovely 'Gift' FM black paint  and there is a BEETLE running around in my focus screen which on FM  is not  owner-removeable I believe, unlike FE.

It is long with folded wings !   What can I do ?

Try leaving the lens off maybe it will find its way out, I have had mites in my camera before but not with wings!

Start by checking which of the three FM versions you have.

One version has the same latch as the FE, one has a spring-loaded carrier that can be removed by unscrewing one screw above the screen and one needs removal of the top cover, lens mount and part of the prism retaining hardware to get to the screen.

Leaving the lens off, as brickie58 suggested often works.

Thanks for your help !  I cannot see any 'Latch' on screen as FE ( where it drops down ) and had a look -- only the mirror bumper foam I  can see so my 'Version' must be that last one. I have taken lens off -- will report if 'Creature' has migrated --
